About us

INVENTED BY FISHERMEN,
FOR FISHERMEN.

Chum Buddy™ was born from a simple idea: make chumming easier, more convenient, and accessible to everyday anglers.

Based in Sarasota, Florida, we’re passionate about fishing, boating, and spending time on the water. My son and I wanted a better way to bring chum directly to our fishing setups without relying on bulky equipment or traditional chumming methods. I just wanted to catch more fish!

That idea became Chum Buddy™—a reusable, patent-pending personal chumming system designed by fishermen, for fishermen. Veteran-owned, with Sarasota roots and a family of fishermen.

How it started

A BUCKET, A MESS, AND NOW INNOVATION

For years chumming meant a five-gallon bucket with a mess of chum or powder, a scoop, and hands you didn't want near your sandwich. It worked, but I don’t know anyone who’d call that groundbreaking.

If you’re fortunate enough, you have a boat, a block of frozen chum that isn’t cheap, and a chum cage. That works too, but we don’t all have boats, and it doesn’t work onshore. So we made a carefully engineered cylinder capsule: perforated body, caps at both ends, and a sailboat-style keel to help keep it doing what you need it to do. Follow the model-specific rigging guidance, load it, and go catch fish!
